Something that needed to go to both blogs

Normally I wouldn't put this here, but it affects two different worlds, and could threaten the whole Big Brother thing that we've been trying to avoid for years. However this time it's going to be far worse since it deals with Internet privacy. There's a site that's right now trying to fight what's called CISPA (Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act) and the thing is that if this actually passes, it will be one of the worst things to come out of Washington since the Bush Regime ran the place, and to top it off it's being forced by the Republicans as well.

One of the things that I've noticed when it comes to the Federal government is that when a law is passed (even when it has been specific to one thing only), they tend to ignore the specific parts and make it so that it encompasses everything and everyone, and honestly this is the last thing that we need right now. After all this would be like the Patriot Act only for the on-line world instead, and we've all seen how bad that became now didn't we.

However there is a ray of sunshine that we can all latch onto to make sure that this thing dies a horrible death (and the President has already said that he would veto this bill once it hit his desk, but it's trying to get it killed before hand that's being worked on right now), there's a site that several people are going to in order to make sure that this does die a horrible death, the site is called Demand in Progress and it's working right now to make sure that those going to Washington know how bad this bill really is.

Personally I would rather not have another version of the Patroit Act that really doesn't help anyone at all and considering that it makes everyone a suspect to each other, and that's really the last thing that anyone wants if we're trying to reach a peaceful world. So check out both links and see what you think, and try to help what you can.

A new way for those with hard of hearing and vision loss to view movies

Now when I first saw this article on the hard copy version of the Fresno Bee I was thinking that it was dealing with some kind of new 3-D wear for maybe a television or movie theater, something that I could be able to slip over my glasses and be able to watch a 3-D movie with out having to try to put those Real 3-D over my own glasses at all. However when I at last read the article, I didn't realize how wrong I was on the entire thing.

These glasses (as you can see by the pictures above, are for those that are hard of hearing (not selective hearing), and have trouble seeing. Plus the really cool thing is that it works for all of the movies that are in the theater there too. What the glasses do is provides subtitles for those that can't hear the movie too well, though in this case the only one that will be seeing the subtitling is the person wearing the glasses in the first place, no one else around them will be seeing anything and can enjoy the movie with out any problems at all.

The whole system works on a wi-fi set up which I honestly think is great, except for having to wear the pack that goes with it in order to be able to get the system to work right, plus there's the limited number of glasses that are available in order to watch a movie that you would like to see. This is only because of the cost in making them, and the fact that they happen to be so limited on how many theaters actually have them in the first place. After all they might either be in use or recharging (yeah they've got to be recharged in order to be able to pick up the signal for the text to be seen on the lenses), which will limit how many are available at any given time.

Personally I happen to think that this is a great idea and opens up more movies (like next Friday's Avengers) for those that were limited before, plus they can also be adapted for 3-D and IMAX as well (or at least from what it said in the article). Though personally for me I would love to be able to see them make a set of Real 3-D lenses that are clip ons so that I don't have to try to fix big Real 3-D glasses over my own which can be a real big pain in the ass (had to put on the paper ones with the old red and blue lenses and I had to take them off every 15 minutes and it totally sucked). If they made clip on ones then I could just put those on my glasses like I do for my shades, however since I know that they're not going to do that any time soon (though I will be looking for the company that does the Real 3-D and suggest it to them in the first place), I just have to live with putting the Real 3-D glasses over my own glasses.

Three times kids have come up in the news today

Now I don't honestly know what's going on in the world, but when you happen to have two kids come up in the news, though for two totally different things (both dealing with authorities), then something is seriously wrong here.

Now the first story here I caught this morning on GMA (Good Morning America), though from what I had read it had taken place last Sunday, but has been getting major media attention since the mother of the child here (a 4 year old little girl), had posted what happened to Facebook. Now I can understand the need for the pat downs considering everything that's been going wrong with our world as of late, but I'm sorry to say, we're talking about a 4 year old little girl that is an innocent child and is still learning the ways of the world here. I mean from what I've read in the article, this little girl is now having nightmares thanks to what happened and that's seriously not right. Personally I'm thinking that when it comes to children under 5 or 6 (since even I'm not sure what the right age would be to start this all at), they shouldn't have to go through a pat down at all, I mean come on they really have no idea what in the world is going on around them and they're still exploring the world. Plus what didn't help things is that this girl had just learned about "Stranger Danger" in her school, and here she now is going through a pat down at an air port where they've supposedly lessened the pat down procedures for children.

Plus what also didn't help, was the TSA agents in the first place had zero compassion for anything that was happening to the child in the first place, I mean come on you're dealing with a 4 year old child here, I mean don't they have any kids of their own at all (I'm thinking not at this rate)? The child is as of last heard still having nightmares from the entire thing that's taken place, and I know personally when it comes to nightmares, that something like that isn't going to be going away any time soon.

This second one I got in my e-mail today from the Arizona Republic about a kindergartner that had been arrested after hitting the school workers, and I'm thinking that's taking things a bit far, yes it's good that the officer didn't hand cuff the kid, but seriously arresting the kid come on here.

I know that there are those out there that think that everything wrong should be punished with locking a person up, but that's the problem that's currently leading to the over crowding that we're currently having in our jails and prisons in the first place. Then again the one thing that I do know is that shoving a person behind bars is a money game, always has been and always will be. After all not only do they get money from the city and state, but they also get money from the prisoner in the end as well.

Now with a child that's a whole different set of rules there, but we're talking about a kid that might have something wrong with him and locking him up is seriously not the answer in the least here at all. It doesn't matter if he never was charged for anything doing this is going to do more damage than is good later on down the line, after all look at the "Scared Straight" program that they had around for a while, in the end it had proven to have failed big time. So while the answers are fleeting since no one knows how to deal with the current and future generations, trying to get them as kids is the wrong way to go in any case at all.

This last one I caught just a short bit on with GMA this morning as well, but it deals with something that I would seriously wish had been different. It had been a young boy with his father at a baseball game, and the player for the team (and I didn't catch the teams that had been there either) tossed a ball up into the stands. Now the boy here is wanting the ball and waiting for it, when right out of the blue a hand reaches up and snags it right out of the air. Turns out the hand belonged to a gentleman right in front of the young boy that gave the ball to his girlfriend, and they completely ignored the little kid behind them the entire time, the kid was balling his eyes out over the whole thing.

Going to a baseball game is a time for a child to create memories of the event with their parent (mother or father, depending on who brought them at the time), and one of the things that tends to help out is getting a ball that was used in the game, but to rob a child of those memories and turn them to something bad, that's not right at all. Heck the last time that I remember something like this happening, the kid that had wanted the ball in the first place, he did end up getting it because another kid that had gotten the ball in the first place, ended up giving him the ball after he had already gotten the ball. The kid that had given the ball away to the other ended up getting a far better reward in the end, and it had proven the sportsmenship in the end with what the kid did. Personally I happen to like what had happened in that game, but this last game I'm sorry to say but that was just wrong giving that ball to your girlfriend instead of the kid behind you that should've gotten it in the first place. That's just me, but I would've thought better and made sure that the kid had gotten it, after all one never knows and could get a far better reward later on for doing just that.

Avengers movie next week

Well everyone, next Friday is the day that all fans have been waiting years for and it's happening at long last. The arrival of a combined movie franchise, the movie The Avengers, staring just about everyone that's had their own movie, and they've all done great considering that every movie stuck right to the comics and nothing was changed about them at all.

Yeah I'm talking to you DC comics and Warner Bros., your last comic book to movie Green Lantern was good in small parts, but over all was pretty bad. Plus saying that the fans won't go see both the individual movie and the Justice League movie is just wrong on your part, however what's even more wrong is changing up the people playing the parts from one movie to another, that's just wrong right there, you want to keep the same person for each movie, not constantly changing them up like crazy.

Personally I don't know if they'll ever learn, but I'm looking forward to the movie, and I've already got my ticket to go see it on the 4th, and right now the only ones that they're selling tickets for in the Fresno area that I can go see it at is for the 3-D version only, no 2-D movies at all. Hey for me that's fine, I really don't mind since the last 3-D movie that I had seen was Spy-Kids 3-D, and those red/blue lens hurt my eyes after a bloody while. However this movie is in Real 3-D which means that we get the full color and we get everything popping right out at us, which personally is perfect. So in the end I'll see lots of weapons fire, tons of characters, and a raging Hulk coming right at me in the theaters, gotta love it.

Well next week I'll let you all know how the movie turns out after I get done viewing it, I'm just hoping that I can get an earlier time than what I happen to have, but right now I'm highly doubting that, but we'll see.

Major protest in Fresno

Now there have been many protests over the years dealing with all sorts of topics, everything from women's rights to how the wars over seas have taken a toll on us all because of a President that had an old score to settle (which all came out in the end that it had been for the bloody oil in the first place). However there is one protest going on right now (and yes I did get photos but I can't post them considering that the only phone I happen to have right now is not connected up and the one person that was helping in that area is having a bit of a hissy fit for everyone using his phone, for which I rarely need it unless I seriously need it), one that had been splashed all over the news (both ABC 30 and The Fresno Bee), but will not get covered any more because they don't think that it's news worthy, or if it happens to be that it's going to be shunted off to a two second mention right next to another nation wide article.

Well as far as I can see, this is getting bigger than what the news places want people to think, but then again then never could remain unbiased towards anything, after all in their eyes, if the person is locked up then they must be guilty (doesn't matter if it happens to be the truth or not). Well with the people that are currently over in front of the court house, they're not only protesting what's going on with the Chukchansi Indians tribal leaders, but also at the same time that the voting rights that they have are getting trampled on like crazy, after all the ones that were voted out in the first place (and I got this from the prior news articles of the Bee) refuse to leave their positions. Then when they hold yet another election, the results of that one are the complete polar opposite of the election that had taken place.

Now in all honesty I really don't know what happened up there since I can't exactly leave Fresno right at the moment, but from what I had seen in the photos (which were posted in a prior blog entry here in My World), this whole thing has been going wrong from the start. What it also tells me is that the ones that were properly elected in the first place couldn't get in because the last ones that had the power wanted to keep that power (gee sounds like an power corrupting moment right there), after all just like Lord Acton stated "Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupt absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men, even when they exercise influence and not authority; still more when you super add the tendency of the certainty of corruption by authority." (That is from the Lord Acton Quote Archive) Personally though I like a better quote that one amazing person stated that should be utilized better "With great power must come great responsibility" Ben Parker to Peter Parker right after he got his spider powers.

Personally though I can't take sides here, I honestly believe that if the first election was the fair and correct one that started this entire thing (though I have no idea how that election went off since I only got to read about it in the Bee after everything was said and done, and I know that by far this story seriously isn't over by a long shot) then maybe we should look over those first results and see what went wrong, and have a mediator that not only is fair but also at the same time isn't from the government (either federal or Tribal) to help clear things up when it comes to all of this. However the only thing that one might end up seeing is the same end results of the second election that had taken place, and that's the same strong arm tactics that were stated to have happened in the first place. Who knows?

I will get those photos up on here once I can get them off of my phone, so you the reader will have to wait for those, but when they get up here they will bring into light everything that I had just been talking about above.

A legend passes on

The man that started the AT 40 Dick Clark has passed on at the age of 82 today from a heart attack. He is well known by many as a man that seemly never aged and would live forever, that however was not to be true. Dick Clark is by far the living legend that he became and always will be. I am saddend by his passing but know that he has passed on the torch to others that will carry out his work.

A topic near and dear to my heart, Bullying

Now I know that I've got you wondering what in the world I'm talking about when it comes to that subject line, well what I'm going to be talking about it something that I've come to realized needs to be dealt with on every age level not just wish kids, and that is the fact that there are people out there that are adults and they're still getting bullied even out side of school, and personally I not only don't think that it's right, I actually was an idiot for taking part in it in the first place.

Now no matter what any one says or thinks, bullying comes in all forms, from verbal to the physical as well. There is one guy that I happen to know (and yes I'm going to say his name too), his name is Justin Stone and he's always telling me that if he didn't tease me (a form of bullying right there) that he wouldn't like it, however the problem that he's got is that he doesn't want to admit that he happens to be bullying me (he actually said that he would kick my ass if I kept doing it to someone else, even though I had already realized what in the world I had done and stopped it). Now a real bully (which is what he happens to be) doesn't want to admit when they are bullying someone, however someone that's not a true bully will actually realize what they're doing and will stop it and go out of their way to tell the person that they were hurting in the first place that they're actually sorry about doing it in the first place, and will go out of their way to make sure that the person isn't getting bullied from others either.

Now the deal with Justin is that not only does he keep calling me gay (for which I'm not, hello happily married and trying to have a child with my wife which still isn't working to this day), but he's keeping me from finding out if my laptop is over at his place since he was supposed to take care of it and a couple of other items that I happen to have with that laptop, and he's doing that by constantly coming down town and never being there at his home, which really doesn't help me in any way. Plus here's another hum dinger (yeah I said that) for you, he also doesn't care about what he says or does around others and expects people to actually react to him  the way he's acting to them, even if it happens to be around women and children. So when he gets the reaction that he's going for he's thinks that you're a better person for it, sorry but I'm not about to become a barbarian just for what he thinks. (He also went all Hitler like on a bus at one point, but that's a story for another time).

Needless to say that Justin is just one example of a bully that needs to be dealt with, but there are no laws that deal with bullying as an adult and unless there's someone getting hurt, the police won't do anything about it either (which I personally think is wrong, but there's nothing that I can say or do about it). Now I've done it to a dear friend of mine as well, and when I had done it I honestly said that I was sorry for it, and showed it by not doing it any more (I was calling him names, and smacking him over the back side of the head (like what Tony Denozo gets in NCIS which should also be stopped as well) for doing stupid things). I know that it's wrong and I've stopped doing it myself, and the thing is I had jumped onto a band wagon that I should never have jumped on in the first place.

(Yeah I know what you're thinking, if others were jumping off a bridge would you do it to, problem is that the bridge is obvious where as what was going on here wasn't and that's how it slipped under my radar and never should've in the first place.)

Personally I don't know how in the world to write laws since I'm not a lawyer and I really wouldn't know who in the world to go to in the first place, but I also believe that this should be dealt with on more than just a kids level with K-12. However till that actually happens, there's no way that's it's going to stop, and that's another part of the problem there.

Back when I was in school, I myself I had been bullied by the other students that were there, and called a name that I will not write down here. Needless to say that when it came right down to it, those same kids that bullied me not only have stopped but at the same time have told me that they were sorry for it in the first place, and I forgave them for it as well. Of course while I was in school there was one person that I had seen that did want to help but had no idea how to help in the end, of course it didn't help that I scared her away as well (though no I wont mention her name since I made a vow promise not to any more).

All I know is that all of this bullying as got to stop period; I just wish that there was a way to do it for all ages.

A couple of things to talk about here today

Yeah I know that I need to come up with better subject header lines, but hey these things are last minute and I really can't come up with anything prior to that in the end. Besides as you all can see below this message, there's been more added to the signature that I always include on every email that I happen to write here, basically I've added all of the links to the pages that I'm personally working on, however the only problem that I happen to have right now is that other than people checking them out, no one is either commenting on them or "Like"ing them at all (and I know that I haven't gotten anything posted on Dreamworld in ages, but I am working on that one as well).

Now there are a few things that I'm also going to be covering on the political side of my blogs, but first thing is first, and that's dealing with a headline that I actually caught on the hard copy version of The Fresno Bee a couple of days ago, the only thing was at the time I just couldn't write anything on it since I was dealing with other things at the time which has been dealt with now.

Well this story (and here's the link for the on-line article) is dealing with a teacher that decided to show a more (hell how do I put this) "graphic" sex ed video in class (hell I'll use the Bee's head line on this one): "Video in Fresno State sexuality class spurs dispute". Now from what you can read in the article, the tape was showing off more than what was normally taught in a sex ed class (doesn't matter what the grade level happens to be, they all keep repeating the same crap over and over again). Thing is and don't get me wrong on this either, but I honestly believe that teaching more to the students instead of trying to teach them something that won't work (like Bush Jr's "Abstinence Only" programs) or things that are so out of date and saying that everything in the videos still work is crap. I'm sorry to say but going from VHS to DVD and not updating the content on the video is not the same thing as actually updating the information on the program, but hey that's me.

Now the kicker is the fact that living in the Valley here, we're talking this place is so bloody religious that anything being taught beyond the "Missionary Position" is considered a bloody sin (and besides in that position it helps the guys out only and doesn't next to nothing for the women at all (ladies please feel free to comment if you would like) and that's just from what I've seen of personal experience with my own wife). However to say that the video that was shown was considered porn is just bloody and completely wrong, hell the best ones to actually teach (and I'm starting to think that they should be teaching the class in the first place) a sex ed class would be porn stars, since it would be them that not only had the best experience at the entire thing, but they could also explain things that teachers these days can't explain at all (or just don't want to explain at all period).

However there's no chance in hell that any school would ever allow a lady (or a guy) porn star to actually teach anything dealing with a sex ed class at all, after all no school district is ever going to allow something like that at all, and even though all school are supposed to be keeping religion out of the school it's not really happening at all in the least. I mean with a lot of the older administrators that are there, they are slowly trying to get religion into the class, however the only problem that they happen to have is that the law is preventing them, namely that of the 1st Amendment (yeah that little kicker in their ass right there).

Now on the entertainment side of everything, there's a couple of things here, the major (though I believe that they're both major) one being the engagement of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Now even though they happen to be engaged, that really doesn't mean anything at all in the least since a couple can be engaged for years till they actually get married. Plus I have a feeling that these two were only getting engaged to make their kids happy and that was about it, after all I personally believe that they aren't going to till the church at long last losing its battle and everyone can be able to marry. Now personally I love the idea both of them getting engaged and wanting everyone to be able to marry first, however I also know the truth in the matter and the fact that both of them will be getting married before everyone has that chance. Either way, this is going to be the one thing that people on the entertainment side are going to be talking about for ages to come.

The last thing here before I head over to the politics side of everything is the new movie that's going to be coming out in a couple of weeks, the greatest lesson that DC and Warner Bros. could ever get and that's the Avengers movie that's coming out May 4th. This is honestly looking to be like the hotest movie of the year by far, after all it's got several movies characters that are being combined into on major movie and the ticket sales are already through the roof and into space BIG TIME!

I mean the one thing other than an Avengers Marvel movie that everyone has been asking for is a Justice League movie that covers everyone along with giving the characters their own movies as well. However it seems to be Warners long time excuse that they don't want to do it for fear that it will detract from the characters getting their own movies. Well the one major problem that Warner happens to have is that even before they get a chance to make a Justice League movie, they're killing the characters and the back story before they even have a chance to make anything that anyone would like. Besides as I've been writing this, I've also been checking on Fandango.com to see what the times and prices are going to be for release day, and so far there's only four times open, and they're all for 3-D only right now and nothing else (yeah I've been trying to get the 2-D side since I can't afford the 3-D side with the $4 extra price tag. However that so far is not happening at all, and it also means that Regal is bringing in the cash for a 3-D only movie right now. Just wish that I could actually get to see it.

The Rain in the Central Valley

Well and here I thought it honestly couldn't get any wetter this week and boy was I wrong (big time). I wake up this morning and it is pouring rain BIG TIME, and it's to the point that within minutes of stepping out of the Mission where I happen to live, my pants are soaked through just about completely (my wallet got slightly hit too which didn't help things at all).

Then as I'm making my way over to the library I heard on the radio (http://www.myalice967.com/) that there's a severe weather alert for the Central Valley till 11a (though that might've changed since I had last heard), though so far there has been no warning like there was two days ago about severe thunder storms and quarter size hail in Central Fresno County (I was over at the Manchester Center area of town just about to go into my bank Chase (https://www.chase.com/) when the alert came in over the radio (I had switched to that from my MP3 player since I had been wanting to hear something other than the music that I had been listening to and I happen to love the radio big time since you can hear new artist that way, though I'll get into that at a later time). Of course what didn't help was when I stepped out of the bank, the rain was starting to come down again, only this time it went worse than when I had been downtown at the time. Of course as I had walked up to that bank, there wasn't any rain at all, and then there was at that point and by the time that I had gotten to the Dollar Tree (http://www.dollartree.com/) it was cleared up, though from the bank to the store, one would've thought that there was just a wall of rain water, it was that bad (plus what didn't help is that they hadn't gotten any umbrellas in their last shipment so I had (and still don't have) nothing to protect myself from the rain with).

However both days, today and two days ago, it was my socks in my shoes that were the worst off of everything. I have a slit hole in the sole of my left shoe (along with the various holes above the soles), and when it rains the water gets right in there and my socks just die from that. Right now I'm wearing two plastic bags over both of my socks inside my shoes to prevent the rain water from getting to the socks again, though I don't think that it actually worked for my left foot at all where the slit in the sole happens to be. So till the rain actually clears up, I'm seriously starting to wonder if I'm actually ever going to get a break from any of this at all, after all a few friends that I know including my wife Miramonte, they all know that I have the worst luck on the planet (and that's not only factual, it's been proven several times as well).

Well with all of this rain, I really only have one question left (which I've already asked of those on Facebook this morning), who ordered the heavy rain for the Central Valley with a side order of drowned rat :)

The cost of something that should be free online

Well I know that I don't normally use my blog as a bitch page any more (though I know that I did in the start for which I'm very sorry in doing so for those readers that had seen all of that), but in this case it happens to be very warranted, and here's why.

I currently right now have two papers coming into my email, and both of them were free once I signed up and started an account with them, The Fresno Bee, and the Arizona Republic. However when I tried to get two more papers coming into my e-mail I discovered that they wanted you to pay for the on line version of them, and that's all well and good if I was also getting the hard copy versions of both papers, however I live in a city that both of those papers don't come down to unless it happens to be through the mail. Those two papers are the Contra Costa Times, and the Brockton Enterprise (getting both of those would help me keep up with what was going on both in the Bay Area and back east where my family happens to live right now). However the problem is that I would need to get a subscription for both of them in order to get the digital versions of both of them.

Personally I don't honestly feel that that's right, but it doens't look like it will ever matter as to what I happen to think at all, which means that I can't keep up with what's going on in either area. Personally I think that happens to blow like crazy, but I also know that there's nothing I can do about it at all. Like I said I just wanted to bitch about this since I don't think that it's right to charge for the on line version at all.

What's been going on with me in My World

Now I know that normally I would be covering something of entertainment and or the news here, but I figured that with everything that was going on in my life right now, I figured that a personal entry was warranted right about now, besides half the time, I'm either working on my book or trying to find some guitar tabs for a friend of mine that is paying me to get them for him. So in the end I end up neglecting a lot of things that I shouldn't be in the first place (unless it happens to be of human interaction then I don't forget that any more). So I figured that I would take one day out of everything that I've been doing (since I doubt that I'm going to get another chance like this any time soon), and just write about what was going on in My "Real" World, which mind you I'll be writing about everything that actually has happened in my life in a book for all to read (and from what my wife tells me, actually scares the royal hell out of my mother-in-law).

Now from what you're seeing in the signature below I've got a grand total of four blogs that I happen to write to, of course on the actual blogger site (http://www.blogger.com/) (which is where this posting will be going to in the first place), there are more than what I've actually posted down below, and the reason for that is simple, not all of them are going to be sticking around in the end, and the ones that are below are actually going to sticking around for a long time to come. Now I know that I haven't posting in the Dream World one in a while and that's because my current life changed, and so I've got to figure how that actually effects my Dream World blog, because the direction that I was planning on going with that is no where near what I had in my current life right now. As for the Ninja Chronicles blog, that right there is getting worked on it will be getting updated on a near constant basis, the only kicker is that when it comes to the writing of the story in the first place, it's actually competeing with the book that I'm currently working on.

Now if I could actually be able to get all of these done constantly it would be perfect, the only problem with that is that I don't have my own laptop since I have to use public computers, and that means both the public library and the computers at a location here in Fresno known as Workforce Connection, so everything is slowed so far down that it's not even funny any more, and in a way I'm actually jealous of my wife since she's got a laptop and that's the one thing that I don't happen to have right now (though I would love to, I just can't get the job in order to be able to get it).

Beyond that, the one thing that I would love to be doing is staying in contact with my family back east, and right now the only ones that I'm able to stay in touch with are both of my sisters and anyone that happens to know me back there. I mean on Facebook I've got both of my sisters listed on my "Friend" list, and yet I can't get either my dad or my step mother to friend me back there, and honestly I don't think that I can get them on there unless I happen to be back there in the first place, which at the current time isn't going to be happening at all. I guess that's just going to have to take time that I really don't want to take in  the first place.

Well that's a bit of an update for you all that happen to read this blog when something new is posted, and yes I will try to get to the rest when I can, and believe me the Political World will be taking off once someone in the GOP race is picked, and then I will pick him to shreds like crazy.
