Events from local to Japan

As we've been seeing in the news as of late, there's a lot that's currently coming out of Japan right now due to the 8.9 Earthquake that rocked the area for at least five minutes (yeah, one tends to think after that that nothing would bother them at that point, even had someone at the local donut shop I go to every morning say that they've been through worse, personally I think that he was just an insensitive idiot), and it's going to be a while before anything can actually get onto the news from there. Then again something like this has hit the news twice before where all you heard was just information on that and nothing else, the first time was back in '89 when the 8.6 Earthquake hit the Bay Area of California (yeah was right in the middle of that one, was stressed out for a month after that), and then when Katrina the south. From both of those, all you ever saw in the news was nothing but that. So please understand that I will be also continuing to read up and cover the quake in my blog(s), but at the same time I will also be writing about other things that have been taking place around us.

Now the first thing that I'm going to be covering here is something that even I'm having a hard time dealing with, and I've already written about these idiots once before, but because of how things are going on, and what they say are state mandated things that they have to do, I'm sorry but they brought this stupidity on themselves (also please see the current article that this is dealing with http://www.fresnobee.com/2011/03/13/2308991/fresno-unified-cant-avoid-painful.html). Now please understand that the state of California gave everyone here a temporary tax extension (which mind you now Brown is trying to extend out) to be able to help out when it comes to an already cash strapped state. Sorry but as far as I'm concern these guys already had their chance and they failed big time to actually get something going when it comes to getting the money stored up (which they failed to do at all). No instead what they decided to do was to actually start spending right off the bat so that when the time comes, they have nothing to fall back on, and they end up becoming the ones that actually end up getting hurt (like they had been before), and they wonder why people are now getting even more ticked off at how everything is ending up. Though personally I do believe that the ones that are in the admin level should really be getting their pays cut instead of everyone else that happens to be going through it right now. Now I remember that the one running the show in down town Fresno has already said that he's going to be taking a 5% pay cut, but honestly that's not nearly enough when the teachers are getting a whole lot more cut and it's getting to the point that they're even losing their jobs, and yet they're doing everything that they can just to make sure that they can keep their jobs while everyone below them is up for grabs. Now I don't know which position happens to be the elected position for the school board, but I honestly believe that for the time being, this guy should feel what it's like to be like everyone else in the lower areas of the teachers. Other wise down the line, it's going to cost the school district even more in areas that we can't even begin to image at this current time, after all right now we just have a red haze in front our eyes everything that's going on. However once that's gone, believe me everyone in the higher ups is going to be feeling this hit when this does come back on them later.

Now there's another topic that's hit the state yesterday that actually made the front page of the paper (http://www.fresnobee.com/2011/03/12/2308140/census-heralds-political-change.html), and that is that there may possibly a political mix up in the future of the state, both at the local level and in Sacramento. The Census numbers had just come out and there's more people living in the Central Valley of California then there had been around 10 years ago, and the one thing that has got the normal Republican and Democratic parties worried is the fact that it's the number of hispanics that had gone up, and it's mostly the Republicans that are worried since they've tended to have the most problems actually connecting with the hispanic voters in the first place (gee I wonder why, saying one thing and then doing something else is not exactly endearing to those that voted you into office in the first place). They tend to wonder why they only end up spending one term in office for someone else to end up coming in, gee you would think that they would eventually figure it out, but I doubt that they ever will. Personally I believe that this is good since it will start to make sure that those who're in office right now start doing what they're supposed to do and actually listen to those that are actually speaking out here, but of course that's asking for something that will never happen at all. After all, like the saying goes, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make the horse actually drink the water.

Now from what I had been reading (http://www.fresnobee.com/2011/03/14/2309074/1000-bodies-found-in-japans-quake.html) it's gotten really bad for that area of the world when it comes to alot of the basic needs that all humans need in order to be able to survive, from water and food, to heat for when the night comes and the temps drop, however the one thing that I never thought would be needed (but it seems it is since they do things differently from us), is body bags and coffins. With the death toll going into orbit and beyond (any where from 1,900 to beyond 10,000), one can begin to understand why tey're asking for help from sources outside of their country, plus with the continuing after shocks that keep ripping the area, it's going to be a long while before everything calms down, and maybe not even then either. I honestly just wish that there was something more that we could do, however even I know that we're limited as well when it comes to what's going on over there. We just have to keep our prayers up is all we can do right now.
