Schools and Education at serious risk!!!

OK is it me, or do all those that happen to be in power right now want nothing but idiots walking around the streets these days while the majority of the things that need to be dealt with out there require an education to actually get it done. Yes I completely understand that you happen to have the older generation that hate it when you happen to have a kid (and I do mean kid as in early twenties), come in with a college degree, and start giving orders like he's been doing this for years when he's only just been hired a couple of hours ago Please even I couldn't be able to take that, even I have to agree that in order to know what the heck you're doing, that you should at least have a couple of years experience prior to actually giving orders. Plus it's not one of having better ideas, yes have the better ideas, but at the same time, also learn from the ones that have been there for a few years and know what's going on. Of course the ones that happen to be running the business tend to pink slip the ones that have been there for a few years while bringing in the ones that happen to have the college degrees, which really doesn't make any bit of sense at all, but these are the things that I've seen over the years.

Last night here in Fresno, there was a protest in Downtown Fresno over teachers getting laid off (here's the Fresno Bee on-line article about it: http://www.fresnobee.com/2011/03/09/2303658/fresno-school-district-teacher.html), and even though I didn't actually go check it out (doesn't help with being homeless that I have to be in by a certain time and unless I'm actually working during that time, there's a zero exception policy to that rule, so I read it in the Fresno Bee this morning), I can understand what's going on since this is similar to what I had read before in another paper about what the TEA Party is screwing up with in Congress with the major blind sided cuts that are currently going on right now and understand this, they're not really looking at the programs, they're only looking at the numbers and that's it. I honestly hate to say this, but there is no way in the world that any one can even try to stay neutral through all of this, and the reason for that is because, even if you want to try, it would eventually effect you in ways that you never thought would ever be possible. Yes this is dealing in education, but understand that when it comes to something like this, even the next generation which is constantly being born right now is being effected by this. After all this is not something for just the here and now, this is something that will ripple down the line and effect the ones that are currently just in the lower areas of education.

Now in the article the one that stated he was taking a 5% cut in his own pay, I'm sorry, but that's seriously not enough for someone running the education that would be setting an example, he should be the one to take the biggest hit there. In fact all those above the teachers should be taking the biggest hit, with the teachers taking the lowest hit since (even with the teachers union) they don't make that much to begin with. After all from what I learned a few years back, half the time the teachers are pouring their own money into the supplies that the school never have in their budgets to even provide the schools with the needed supplies for each school year, and even then it's barely enough to begin with. Honestly the ones that I've noticed that are making the biggest buck that should be getting cut back are the book publishers that publish up the constantly updated books that schools (k though college) are constantly buying and paying for, and the hitch to that is that when it comes to these books, they don't change from one school year to the next. The only reason why I even noticed that they were even getting republished is so that the prices could be kept extremely high, and that's the one thing that no one needs. Even I had to deal with that when I had been going to college, and believe me I dread having to pay those prices once again, since I know that every time the class gets brought in each semester, the classes always require the updated book for the class. Sorry but no one can afford the new ones, and like I said before the thing is that they aren't updated, just republished.

Believe me, if I knew how to get people to read my blogs here, I would seriously be suggesting that they would join the party that I'm trying to start right now, after all this is a prime example of things that seriously need to be changed and with out getting the major cuts that the TEA Party is trying to put forth. Yes  always rip on the TEA Party, but that's only because of the stupidity that they've shown after they gained control of Congress right off the bat, I'm sorry but just going after something to cut it and because of the huge number that's being spent on it isn't the reason to cut it and gut it like a dang fish. You see the number yes, but instead of saying "hey this has too big of a spending number to it, let's cut it entirely" check it out and see what needs to be trimmed off of it, don't completely kill it out right. Always examine and check it out to see what needs to be done to it, after all it might be something that's going to be seriously needed later on in life, and we don't want our present mistakes to catch up with us in the future where it will (not might, we're way long past might) do more harm then good.
